After graduating from Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland in 2003 I started my Ph. D. studies at Jagiellonian University in Cracow and at University of California at Berkeley. I am working in Photonics Division at nonlinear magneto-optical effects, which appear when intense light beam, usually laser light, interacts with atoms. Such effects are extensively used in number of applications such as magnetometry, coherent population trapping, electromagentically induced transparency and absorption, storing light pulse in atomic medium. They become especially atractive due to its potential applications in quantum computation. These effects are also used in testing of fundamental symmetry and frequency standards.
