My Pier Glass Aviation flights

NEW: pictures!

NEW: airport diagrams!

I'm a pilot (currently commerical pilot license) flying for Pier Glass Aviation (#1118), the telecommuter's airline, currently serving the San Francisco Bay and Seattle Areas. My most up-to-date rating and hours flown are located in a Broom Closet. On this page I intend to show some of my flights, both for PGA and for my own.

If you want to see the recording, copy the black box file (*.bbx) to your ...\Flight3\Recs folder, start FUIII, go to aiport, then flight recorder and select the appropriate recording from the list.

Touch and goes
Aircraft: Cessna 172
Region: Seattle
File: mg01.bbx (383 Kb)

This was not intended to be shown for public. I just made a little training, trying to polish up my landing technique. As you can see it is still far from being perfect! After I finished this flight I decided it might be worth recording, and here it is. The movie begins on a final to Jefferson County RWY 08. After landing I decided to take off, and remaining in the pattern I performed two more touch and goes followed by a full stop.
Emergency landing
Aircraft: Mooney Bravo
Region: San Francisco
File: mg02.bbx (211 kB)

I tried to fly PPL04, which is IFR check. The first leg was supposed to finish above Livermore airport. Well, I missed it by about 8 miles. At the moment I started my left turn towards next leg, my engine failed. I had to quickly find the airport in this very bad weather and make emergency landing without engine. See how I did it.
Dreadful landing
Aircraft: Mooney Bravo
Region: San Francisco
File: mg03.bbx (26 kB)

Yeeek! This was very dreadful landing at Moskowite. I had strong, northern wind, so had to approach runway 03. There is a hill on the approach path, so one have to descent extremely fast, to fit within the runway. To make it even more difficult, it was very dark. After touchdown I had some problems with stabilizing my aircraft, well, I will have to check my right wing carefully...
Rainy landing at HBO
Aircraft: Lake Renegade
Region: San Francisco
File: mg04.bbx (129 kB)

I was on my way from Sacramento to Half Moon Bay, and the weather was lousy. Bouncig Betty, as usual, allowed for decend too late, so I entered the pattern at around 2000', decended very fast, and overshoot the pattern altitude of 1000'. Visibility was so low that on the right base to runway 30 I lost the runway from sight, and made a big correction on final. However, I managed to land quite smoothly. Note: due to some bug in FU3 the recording starts with engine and avionics off. You will have to switch them on manually after you start playback.
NEW Nice short flight from RHV to SJC
Aircraft: Lake Renegade
Region: San Francisco
File: mg05.bbx (129 kB)

This is mission #PPL22, short flight from Reid Hillview to San Jose in beautiful morning weather. Again I flew my favourite Renegate. Just admire...
